Griechenland - Hellenic Adult Education Association

Designing the implementation of a training course in a blended format
Learning outcomes:

Trainees will:

  • experience the role of trainer – administrator of an e-learning programme
  • be able to design the classroom contents of a short blended course
  • be able to enrich an e-learning platform with all elements needed
Programme outline

Tag 1: Moodle (Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment) e-learning platform presentation. Trainees will start familiarising themselves with “The use of Art in Adult Education” acting as users of the relative e-learning course.

Day 2: The blended method of delivering training will be presented to the trainees. Trainees, working in groups, will choose and design the structure of conventional classroom programme that will be delivered with the blended method. They will set the learning outcomes of a short course and design the structure of the conventional classroom programme that is included in the blended method. They will also decide which will be the trainer – trainee as well as the trainee – trainee interaction possibilities, the content, the training activities, the support material, the evaluation instrument, etc. that will be included in the e platform. They will start uploading all the above material to the e-learning platform, in their role as a trainer

Day 3: Trainees will act as trainers of the Moodle platform and will continue uploading all the above material to the e-learning platform, in their role as trainers. After the completion of this part, they will enrich their course with tools included in the Moodle platform that will make their course more interactive and effective. They will also get in touch with some other (external) tools that can be related and connected with the e-learning platform to enhance the interaction of the group.

Day 4: The first half of the day will be dedicated to the presentation of the end product of the practical exercise that each group completed during Day 3, to the plenary and the relative comments by both the trainers as well as fellow trainees. The second half of the day will be dedicated to the theory which supports the previous days’ activities. Subjects that will be covered will address questions such as: – Are there any other platforms available? – Are they suited for my purposes? - What techniques am I going to use as a trainer?- Do I need to be an Arts specialist? - Why do I use Art in adult education? -How do I choose works of Art?
